Who is EMSPAC

EMSPAC was born from a pioneering vision of natural skincare and is part of a tradition of innovation and high standards. In 1983, Jean-Claude Manzano, then director of the company Natiris / EMSPAC, introduced to the market the green clay montmorillonite Ventoux, composed more than 90% montmorillonite. This exceptional clay quickly becomes a central ingredient for the creation of avant-garde cosmetics and skincare products, developed directly in his laboratory, with particular attention to quality and customer well-being. In 2018, this artisanal and visionary approach was recognized by the Gardoise Artisanal Excellence Award, awarded by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of the Gard.

The extraction and processing of clay

he green clay montmorillonite Ventoux is extracted in the south of France, at a time when sunshine is strongest and most intense. This step is essential: it allows for complete natural drying. Once dry, it is mechanically ground to obtain a first crushed powder, then sieved several times in order to achieve a superfine, homogeneous and stable powder. Unlike some industrial processes, no air jet micronisation is used. This type of supersonic grinding is based on the collision of clay particles with each other, at very high speed, as well as against the walls of the mill, which makes the powder excessively volatile and modifies its physical structure. The choice of a gentle mechanical grinding and successive sieving allows to keep a clay powder balanced, easy to work with, and respectful of its natural properties. Packaging and quality requirements The clay is then packaged in 25 kg kraft bags, in small batches to ensure optimal freshness and consistent quality.

bsorbent and adsorbent

Clays are absorbent and adsorbent, rich in minerals and trace elements, suitable for skin care, combination skin, oily skin, delicate skin... - Absorption capacity, that is to say that the clay internalizes molecules like a sponge soaking up liquid. At the clay level, this phenomenon is passive; it occurs through capillarity. - Ability to remineralize thanks to their richness in essential minerals and trace elements. - Adsorption capacity: the attachment of molecules occurs on the surface. Adsorption is measurable by ion exchange, using the CEC method (cation exchange capacity). It is this latter property that allows the clay to revitalize in depth and provide many trace elements.
